Simple tests are administered first followed by more complex ones depending on the nature of the condition. These include stress test, ultrasound, nuclear cardiology, CT scan and the heart rhythm.

Some of the aspects that are used to detect heart complications include blood pressure, pulse, body weight and oxygen levels in the blood. These factors are usually measured and analyzed. They are then compared with established parameters to determine if treatment is necessary. In case of a deviation, appropriate treatment is administered. Most treatments focus on behavioral change techniques aimed at controlling the disease.

Most of the patients seeking cardiac care are usually treated on outpatient basis. To reduce the mortality rate of heart-related conditions health care centers provide emergency intervention for sudden events. These include heart attack, severe arrhythmia and congestive heart failure which require specialized and immediate care. Interventional cardiology procedures are widely used since patients do not experience any pain and take a short period of time to recover.
