Workout Options That Are Lower Impact

By Kamryn Mattson

Obviously, high impact exercises yield some great results. They burn a large amount of calories and can whip you into shape fairly quickly. However, not everyone has a body that can really withstand the punishment of running or jogging or other exercises that are heavy in impact. However, you can stay in shape with some exercises that are lower in impact.

Jogging and running are quite hard on the knees and feet, but if you move a little bit slower, you can still get in shape without the impact. Consider walking or hiking outside with friends. Outdoor exercise is often an excellent option because the varied terrain pushes up the effectiveness of the exercise. If you prefer to workout indoors, consider a machine such as a treadmill or perhaps a stair climber or elliptical machine. The two latter options burn calories at a quick rate with relatively low impact.

If you live near a river, recreational lake or the seashore, you can take advantage of this fact and enjoy some water exercise. Consider paddle boarding or perhaps kayaking as both activities burn calories and are great upper-body exercises. Some areas even have kayaking or rowing clubs, and this can be a fun and social option.

Exercising in water definitely reduces impact so consider activities such as water aerobics or swimming. Many communities offer daily access to swimming pools throughout the year at a fairly low cost, usually cheaper than a gym membership. Whatever activity you decide to do, it is best to fit exercise into your schedule at least three times each week, although four or five days of activity will certainly yield faster results.

While the impact of your exercise routing might be low, you can still suffer from occasional muscle pain and strains. When this occurs, there are many pain relief options to consider, but a physiological hybrid shape is an excellent drug-free and effective pain relief product. The product is designed so that the middle of the shape covers the sore muscle, protecting it and reducing the pain. Several arms surround this central core, and their job is to gain power from nearby muscle groups that are not strained and sore.

There are many different types of physio hybrid shapes from companies such as Rapid Force for various parts of the body prone to muscle pain. There are shapes for shoulder pain relief, for knee pain relief, as well as for the elbows and the upper back and lower back. All of these shapes adhere directly to the skin using a safe, strong hypoallergenic adhesive.
